HRT and Semaglutide

The Right Way to Weight Loss

Feel your best and lose 15+ lbs with an intensive,
individualized program designed to undo menopausal weight gain.

If you’re experiencing perimenopausal and menopausal weight gain, you’re not alone. Our approach is to treat your entire system beginning by healing your metabolic health.

With Aurelia, your weight loss team includes Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and Registered Dietitians—experts in perimenopausal and menopausal weight loss science. Our programs are ultra-customized and focused on results. Plus, semaglutide is included in the cost of your program.

Midlife weight gain isn’t a failure.

You strive to be as healthy as you can be: eating nutritious foods, working out, seeking balance throughout your life. Women are smart and capable. That makes this midlife shift extra frustrating. It’s not you.

Hormones are the missing piece, literally.

The solution is a hormones-first™ approach to weight loss

Our program is unique. We blend bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (HRT) with modern weight loss medication. You also receive guidance from board-certified clinicians. This isn’t just about changing your body, it’s about experiencing transformation through coaching and personal development.  Are you ready to see results?

COMPREHENSIVE TESTING

Address the root cause

You receive a complete hormone assessment. We also fully test your thyroid, which is something traditional medical providers don’t do. Thorough testing is the foundation of your plan because it shows us exactly what’s going on in your body.

PERSONALIZED NUTRITION

Eat for your body

This isn’t about calorie counting, and we never recommend restriction. It’s about learning what foods you need to feel your best during midlife. Your Registered Dietitian creates a plan that will work for you and your lifestyle. While there are some things nearly every woman in midlife should do (eat protein!), nutrition is personal.

INITIATE METABOLIC REPAIR

Stabilize your blood sugar

Increased insulin levels promote fat storage, so stabilizing blood sugar levels is crucial.  We use advanced techniques for assessing and treating your insulin and blood sugar levels. We focus on metabolic repair.

SUPPLEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS

Know what to take and when

Supplements are part of our tool kit for addressing metabolic disrepair and symptoms of aging. You’ll receive recommendations based on what your body needs. Your team is there to adjust as needed.

SEMAGLUTIDE FOR WEIGHT LOSS

Activate weight loss science

Semaglutide therapy—included in the cost of your program—is provided after you begin working with your Registered Dietitian. Focusing on your diet first increases long-term weight loss and decreases side effects. Results have shown that patients often lose, on average, 15% of their body weight in 9-12 months.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Learn from others on this journey

Perimenopausal and menopausal weight gain can be one of the most frustrating symptoms of midlife. Goals are easier to reach when you have community and education at your fingertips. Our weekly group coaching sessions will leave you feeling supported, informed, and energized.

YEAR-LONG COMMITMENT

Embrace a long-term solution

Leveling your blood sugar, building muscle mass, and making lifestyle changes take time. To help you maintain success, we ask for a 12-month commitment. These aren’t quick fixes, but they are sustainable ones. We’re here to help you every step of the way.

This is not about calories in, calories out.

This is about repairing your metabolism and restoring your midlife well-being.

Not your normal weight loss medication:

get the facts about semaglutide and menopause

Most weight loss drugs are stimulants. They work to suppress your appetite. Semaglutide is different. It helps to repair the damage done to your metabolism by stress and our modern lifestyles.

A type of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), semaglutide is sold under various brand names for diabetes and weight loss.

Regulating insulin and blood sugar, semaglutide for weight management decreases cravings and increases that feeling of fullness. It literally changes the way our bodies respond to stress. It lowers the release of glucose from the liver in response to cortisol (your stress hormone).

If you’re feeling hopeless about your perimenopausal or menopausal weight gain, this can be a game changer.

“You can only tell people to love themselves for so long when they feel crappy in their bodies.”

  • Yes, it’s typical but not normal. Weight gain indicates that something is not right with the metabolism.  When hormones decline and stress increases, weight gain often comes next.  Estrogens, progesterone, and testosterone change in midlife, sometimes as early as 35. It’s not just about eating fewer calories.  Calorie restriction and restrictive dieting can worsen stress for women. They can lead to cyclical weight gain, a slow or sluggish metabolism, and frustration and overwhelm. While not everyone gains weight in perimenopause and menopause, many women do.

  • We’re intentional about who we hire to work with our clients: we only hire Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and Registered Dietitians because they have a level of  expertise and relationship-building skills that make our programs effective.

A Nurse Practitioner has a master’s or doctoral degree in nursing. Starting as an RN, they have additional training and can diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, and treat patients. Our founder, Emily Sadri, is a Nurse Practitioner.

Our Registered Nurses have a bachelors of science degree in nursing and must pass the National Council of State Boards of Nursing exam.

A Registered Dietitian has at least a bachelor’s degree and has passed the Commission on Dietetic Registration’s national exam. An RD is the gold standard in reliable nutrition advice.

Coaches and nutritionists aren’t regulated like our professionals are. They’re not required to pass exams, continue their education, or be held to a regulated standard. And some traditional healthcare providers aren’t on the cutting-edge, aren't cultivating relationships with patients, and aren’t providing personalized, effective hormone treatments. We are.

  • No! No one has to do anything. In fact, we only recommend and prescribe semaglutide for your perimenopausal / menopausal weight gain if it’s right for you. We consider your test results, lifestyle, and feelings.

  • Many people ask how they’ll get off semaglutide. The type of care you receive and how you approach your journey are the biggest factors here.

You can successfully come off these medications, especially if you commit to making lasting lifestyle changes. Improving your relationship with stress, repairing gut health, prioritizing sleep, and addressing hormone decline are the big ones. These changes can support sustainable weight loss and overall health. Most importantly: they repair  metabolism, which is the goal.

The most important thing is that your decision is made with your provider and that you feel confident and supported in your choices. Every woman’s journey is different, and what matters most is finding the path that’s right for you. This is one of the many decisions we can help you make, together.

  • Semaglutide can be an effective intervention for perimenopausal and menopausal weight gain but at Aurelia it’s only part of the equation. By the time you’ve been in the Right Way to Weight Loss program for one year, you’ll have an entirely new approach to nutrition and metabolic wellness that will help you sustain your weight loss.

Our approach is all about support and you’ll continue to receive that if you and your dedicated team determine that decreasing  your use of semaglutide is right for your long term care plan. Our ultimate goal is to heal your metabolism. If we observe weight gain after a decrease in semaglutide we’ll address the root causes and ensure you have the coaching and medical support you need to get back to a healthy weight for your individual body.

  • The most common side effects of semaglutide can include gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, and constipation. Our rigorous onboarding process and preparatory work we recommend for each woman significantly reduces incidence of side effects in patients at Aurelia. We simply don't see much of it. We also take a "start low and go slow approach." This sets us apart from our competitors.

  • No, not everyone is medically eligible for treatment with semaglutide at Aurelia. Semaglutide is contraindicated for use in people with an allergy to semaglutide, and with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma. If you have a diagnosis of type 1 or type 2 diabetes, we can't work with you at Aurelia. We also don't prescribe semaglutide to women who are already at a healthy weight, because this medication is not intended to help you go from a size 6 to a size 2.
